Principal's Message
“Anything is possible.
Dreams are made if you only try.”
Terry Fox
Wow can you believe the school year is over? I want to thank all the students, parents, and staff for a wonderful year. Belmead is truly an exceptional school!
This time of year is so exciting as we celebrate our success and begin to think about our futures. Our grade 6 students have provided us with so many positive memories. Their challenge is to continue learning and growing as they move on to Junior High. They are our future and I must say it looks bright!
I want to thank all the students, parents, community and staff for your contributions to our charity of choice this year, JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation). We have raised $4500 to help find a cure for Diabetes! What an amazing responsible and kind school!!
All our students have had superb results due to the hard work of staff, students, and parents. We cannot do the important work of educating your children without your support and trust. Together we can make a difference. Remember to keep reading over the summer, your child might win a picnic! with their teacher!
I want to wish the following staff who will be leaving Belmead, much success in their next adventures whether it be a new position, going back to school or a new career, they have all touched us here!
Gil Lavigne, Kathleen Yu, Matt Neale, Heather McCready, Alysson Schnieder, Gail Signore and Carla Villar
Now I would like to welcome our new staff for 2009-2010:
Roxanne Weidman Grade 1/2
Jill Fraser French Grades 4-6
Lisa Zimmer Grade 6
I do hope you all have a very relaxing summer; exploring other countries and provinces or even in your own back yard! Summer is a time to rejuvenate and best of all, play! One last time, on behalf of the staff at Belmead, we want to thank you for the opportunity to work with your children.
All the best and see you in September!
All the best

Summer is one of my favourite seasons as we get to go camping, I can ride my bike and take our dog Parker to the lake!

It has been my privilege...and thank you and all the students for being great students!
Jayden room 7 asks, “Do you have a swimming pool?”
I wish I had a swimming pool however I live very close to the Peter Hemmingway Pool, so it is like having my own pool...but I have to walk to it!! Isabella room 18 wishes, “Have a great summer break Mr. Cooper!”
I hope everyone has a terrific break as well whatever you are doing!!
Edmund room 3 asks, “Are you a good swimmer?”
I love swimming and I have to practice a lot...am I good? It is not about being goods it is about having fun and doing your best and I always try my best.

Michelle room 5 asks, “Are you going to be at Belmead for ever? I wish you could!”
Belmead is as great place to be and I am enjoying myself here!!
Vern room 14 asks, “Do you think we should add to the climbing wall to make it easier for students?”
I think it is important for everyone to get comfortable with the wall we have and if the students think we should add to it we can certainly consider that idea!!
Evelyn room 7 asks, “How old is your son. What games do you play with your son? Do you like to draw with your son?”
Our son will turn 21 this September. When he was younger we played lots of card games and board games like monopoly, chess and checkers. We also liked to play outside and do lots of activities like catch, soccer, tobogganing, skiing, snow boarding, skating, biking and many more!! Logan loved to draw and doodle especially when we travelled.
Evan room 1 says, “Thank you for Positive Office Visits!”
One of my favourite things as a Principal is when I get POV from students. It is exciting to see and hear about their accomplishments!!
