School Council

The Parent Council encourages all parents to become involved in the education of their child.  Becoming part of the parent council is a great way to do this.  As a member of the parent council, you have input into school level decisions, you know what is happening at your child's school, you can be part of the plannning for special events and fundraisers.  An effective parent council is a wonderful gift to a school.  You can make a difference in your child's school.

Belmead Parent Council meets once a month from 6:00 to 8:00.  We begin with supper followed by our meeting.  Children may accompany their parents to join  us for supper.  Students play either in the computer or the kindergarten room while the meeting is in progress.

Principal's Report
We have a confirmation of H1N1 flu virus(Swine Origin Influenza Virus). Lately, we have had a large number of students away. On Friday at 3:15pm, Mr. Cooper was notified of a confirmed a mild case of  H1N1.  Anyone showing symptoms should stay home for 7 days or 1 full day without showing any symptoms. It is good that our kids are going through it now than in October when flu season starts.  We have been trying to isolate the kids with symptoms and then send them home. The custodial staff have been instructed to do extra cleaning in public areas like doorknobs, etc. If you have any questions or concerns, call the Healthlink line. Several schools in the west end have confirmed cases of H1N1.
