    The world has entered an era of the most profound change in human history, creating new challenges for today's students. Meeting these challenges will require a different skill set than previous generations. In an effort to provide our students with key skills vital for the 21st century, we teach Stephen Covey's 7 habits through the Leader in Me process.

    • Habit 2: Begin With the End in Mind – or -   Have a Plan
    • Habit 3: Put First Things First – or -   Work First, Then Play
    • Habit 4: Think Win-Win – or -  Everyone Can Win

    • Habit 6: Synergize -or-  Together Is Better
    • Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw -or- Balance Feels Best
    • Habit 8: Find your Voice -or- Inspire Others

    This program is built on the premise that every child can develop the essential life skills and characteristics necessary to thrive in the 21st century. Some of these skills include leadership, accountability, adaptability, initiative and self-direction, cross-cultural skills, responsibility, problem-solving, communication, creativity and teamwork. Through this program, we teach a generation of leaders one child at a time.

  • Interactions Program

    Interactions Program

    This program provides academic programming in a small group setting for children who display characteristics within the Autism Spectrum Disorder. The classroom provides a higher adult to child ratio than in a regular program.  The Interactions program is focused on improving the developmental, social and communication skills of the students.

    Staff in the program are knowledgeable in the area of Autism Spectrum Disorder and there is ongoing training throughout the year.

    A number of strategies are employed to help students reach their potential.  A sensory room with specific equipment will provide students opportunities to improve their fine and gross motor skills as well as regulate their sensory needs.

    Communication skills will be developed both in and outside of the classroom. Students will have the opportunity to be integrated into other classrooms, when appropriate, to focus on socialization and/or academic skills.

    Interested parents are encouraged to call and arrange a time to visit the program.

  • Registration


    For the 2024 - 2025 school year, Belmead School is full in planned classes in Kindergarten and Grades 1 and 3 in the regular program. A Kindergarten student who is a resident and lives in the school's attendance area may still register. We will now only accept resident students in Grades 1 and 3 whose parent(s)/legal guardian(s) have newly moved into the school’s attendance area for the regular program. A resident student of Edmonton Public Schools has at least one parent or legal guardian living in Edmonton who is not Roman Catholic. Non-resident students can enrol in another Division school with space in planned classes.

    If you are registering for Kindergarten or are new to Edmonton Public Schools, you must register online.

Dear Parents, 

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to Belmead School. It is a privileged to help mold the bright stars of tomorrow, and I am honoured to be a part of the Belmead community.

At Belmead School, we believe in building a community of effective leaders who are motivated, empowered, accountable and dedicated to learning. Diversity is respected and celebrated at Belmead and staff work hard to support all of our students socially, emotionally and academically as we strive for success, one student at a time. 

We are proud to be both a Leader in Me and an APPLE School. These initiatives further enrich our safe and healthy environment that promotes learning and excellence. We are excited to work alongside your children as they continue to learn and explore, and we look forward to an amazing year full of new opportunities, positive relationships and rich learning experiences.
